Strengthen your bond with your dog through a variety of training programs for all skill levels.
Dog Training at On Command
Man and dog have been friends and companions forever. The behavior of your dog is the most important factor in determining how much you will enjoy your pet. Dogs, descending from pack animals, learn first from their mother, then their litter-mates and finally their behavior is established by their interactions with the adult members of the pack (you!). Our training and behavior modification techniques using this natural method of communication will strengthen the bond between you and your dog, enhancing a lasting and loving relationship. Dogs respond to a kind yet firm approach, therefore our training is accomplished through voice and praise, along with proper firm corrections. We are proud of the successes of our students and invite you to observe our training classes at anytime.
It is no secret that dogs provide a level of unconditional love that cannot be measured and strive for 100% of our attention as owners. We do our best to raise our dogs like our own children and as true members of our family. But there is a lot that goes into puppy raising and things can be tough. Even more confusing can be the range of advice one would find when researching the topics of house-training, grooming care, methods of dog training, and so on. Often times dogs will develop bad habits like jumping, digging, barking, etc., all of which can be addressed through a proper training program. Through experience, implementing a set of rules and boundaries for your dog can help in many ways. Not only is your dog happier with this direction, but they learn how to please you and earn the praise they love so much. In return, your dog gets to go more places and do more things because they’re no longer a hassle or embarrassing in public. If you are experiencing some of these issues, please ask us how our training programs can help you.
Training appointments cancelled/rescheduled without 24 hour notice will result in a charge equal to 100% of the reserved amount or forfeit of lesson.
All dogs that have completed their training course qualify for a $10 refresher training during their boarding or daycare stay at On Command. When you drop off your dog just let us know you would like us to give your dog a refresher course!

Lead Dog Trainer
I am a certified dog trainer through National K-9 School for Dog Trainers. I successfully completed the Master Trainer Course in the Spring of 2012 which includes puppy development, basic and advanced obedience, and behavior modification. I began training for On Command in 2011 and since have enjoyed teaching owners how to effectively communicate with their dogs through the training process. I’ve grown up around dog training and have always enjoyed teaching and working with my own dogs from a young age. I’ve found that even the simplest training programs can enhance the relationship shared between families and their dogs. I’ve worked with dogs of all ages and breeds and believe that any dog is capable of success with the right direction and persistence from their humans.
My personal dog is a 3yr old Fox Red Labrador named Apollo. On our weekends we enjoy mountain biking and trail running. Apollo also loves water activities; from swimming in alpine lakes to breaking trail in the snow.
I am a certified dog trainer through the National K-9 School for Dog Trainers. While my career with On Command began in 2015, I successfully completed the Master Trainer Course in the fall of 2018 which includes basic and advanced obedience, puppy development, utility, and scent detection. Some of my favorite facets of dog training are basic and advanced obedience, puppy development, as well as personal protection. I was born and raised in Reno, Nevada and have been working with a variety of animals for almost 10 years. I believe that dogs bring out the best in us humans and I hope to inspire all dog owners and help build a better relationship between you and man’s best friend.
I have 2 labs and a rescue mix breed of my own. When I’m not working with dogs I enjoy skiing in the winter and shooting guns in the summer.

I am a certified dog trainer through the National K-9 School for Dog Trainers with the successful completion of the Obedience and Behavior Course in the Spring of 2016. I discovered my love for dog training roughly 6 years ago when I was working at an animal shelter and was inspired to learn more about dog behavior modification. My career with On Command began in 2015 and through dog training, I enjoy aiding in and watching the improvement not only in the dog’s life, but their overall relationship they have with their family. I teach all levels and programs of obedience, yet my favorites are private lessons and the utility course. I love getting to focus and troubleshoot through individual problems going on at home and seeing a dog thrive through obedience and confidence building challenges.
My personal dog is Leloo a 6 yr old Belgian Malinios/ German shepherd who I adopted as a puppy from the animal shelter. She is my hiking and rock climbing buddy. We also enjoy anything involving snow; she accompanies me while snowshoeing or snowboarding in the back country.
